Ingredients
  

  • 6 slices of white bread
  • 1/2 cup 120 grams of mawa paste
  • 1/4 cup 60 grams of chopped nuts (such as almonds, pistachios, or cashews)
  • 1/4 cup 60 ml of condensed milk
  • 1/4 cup 60 ml of milk
  • 1/4 teaspoon of cardamom powder
  • A pinch of saffron strands soaked in 1 tablespoon of milk (optional)
  • Chopped nuts and cherries for garnish optional

Instructions
 

  • Trim the edges of the bread slices to make them even.
  • Spread 2 tablespoons of mawa paste evenly on each bread slice.
  • Sprinkle chopped nuts over the mawa paste.
  • Roll the bread slices tightly and cut each roll in half.
  • Place the rolled bread slices on a serving tray.
  • In a bowl, whisk together the condensed milk, milk, cardamom powder, and saffron (if using).
  • Pour the milk mixture over the rolled bread slices.
  • Garnish with chopped nuts and cherries (if using).
  • Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes before serving.

Notes

  • For a richer flavor, use full-fat milk instead of skim milk.
  • If you don't have mawa paste, you can use khoya or ricotta cheese instead.
  • You can also add a teaspoon of rose water or kewra water to the milk mixture for an extra flavor boost.
