- 2.25 cups 270g all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup 113g unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup 200g granulated sugar
- 1 egg at room temperature
- 1/4 cup 60g sour cream, at room temperature
- 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract 7.5ml
- 1/4 teaspoon almond extract optional
Prepare the ingredients. Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Mix the dry ingredients. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, cornstarch, and salt.
Cream the butter and sugar. In a large bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
Add the wet ingredients. Beat in the egg until well combined. Stir in the sour cream, vanilla extract, and almond extract (if using).
Add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and mix until just combined.
Drop the dough onto the baking sheet. Drop the dough by rounded tablespoons onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
