For the Samosa Patti:
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 3 tablespoons water
- 1/4 cup vegetable oil
For the filling:
- 2 medium potatoes boiled, peeled, and mashed
- 1/2 cup green peas cooked
- 1 onion finely chopped
- 1 teaspoon ginger-garlic paste
- 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
- 1/2 teaspoon coriander powder
- 1/4 teaspoon garam masala powder
- 1/4 teaspoon chili powder optional
- Salt to taste
- Vegetable oil for deep frying
To make the somasa patti, combine the flour and salt in a bowl. Add the water and oil and mix until a dough forms. Knead the dough for 5-7 minutes, or until it is smooth and elastic.
Divide the dough into 10 equal pieces. Roll out each piece of dough into a thin circle.
To make the filling, combine all of the ingredients in a bowl and mix well.
To assemble the samosas, place a spoonful of filling in the center of each samosa pattis. Fold the somosa pattis into a cone shape, moistening the edges with water to seal.
Heat the oil in a deep frying pan over medium heat. Fry the samosas in batches for 2-3 minutes, or until they are golden brown and crispy.
Drain the samosas on paper towels and serve immediately with your favorite chutney, dipping sauce or ketchup.
