  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 large onion chopped
  • 1 green bell pepper chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1.5 pounds ground beef
  • 1 28 ounce can crushed tomatoes
  • 1 15 ounce can kidney beans, rinsed and drained
  • 1 15 ounce can pinto beans, rinsed and drained
  • 1 cup 240 ml beef broth
  • 2 tablespoons chili powder
  • 1 tablespoon cumin
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper

Instructions
 

  • Sauté Vegetables: Heat the olive oil in a large pot or Dutch oven over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and green pepper and cook until softened, about 5 minutes. Add the minced garlic and cook for another minute, until fragrant.
  • Brown the Beef: Add the ground beef to the pot and cook, breaking it up with a spoon, until browned. Drain any excess grease.
  • Add Remaining Ingredients: Stir in the crushed tomatoes, kidney beans, pinto beans, beef broth, chili powder, cumin, paprika, salt, and pepper.
  • Simmer: Bring the chili to a boil, then reduce the heat to low and simmer for 30 minutes, stirring occasionally.
