Ingredients

  • 4 cups about 300 grams of bread cubes (white or brown bread)
  • 2 cups 475 ml of milk
  • 1/2 cup 100 grams of granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup 60 ml of melted unsalted butter
  • 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon of ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup 40 grams of raisins (optional)
  • 2 tablespoons of chopped nuts optional
  • A pinch of salt

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a baking dish with butter or cooking spray and set it aside.
  • In a mixing bowl, combine the milk, sugar, melted butter, vanilla extract, ground cinnamon, and a pinch of salt. Whisk until the sugar is dissolved and everything is well combined.
  • Add the bread cubes to the bowl and gently fold them into the milk mixture until all the bread is evenly coated. Let it sit for about 10 minutes to allow the bread to soak up the liquid.
  • If using raisins and nuts, gently fold them into the bread mixture.
  • Pour the bread mixture into the prepared baking dish, spreading it out evenly.
  • Place the baking dish in the preheated oven and bake for about 35-40 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the pudding is set.
  • Once done, remove the pudding from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes before serving.
  • Serve warm on its own or with a scoop of ice cream or a drizzle of caramel sauce, if desired.
  • Enjoy your delicious eggless bread pudding!
