Ingredients

  • 1 9- inch pre-made chocolate graham cracker pie crust approximately 200 grams
  • 1 1/2 cups 360 milliliters heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup 100 grams granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup 175 grams semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 2 tablespoons 28 grams unsalted butter, softened
  • Chocolate shavings or sprinkles for garnish optional

Instructions

Prepare the Pie Crust:

  • Take the pre-made chocolate graham cracker pie crust and set it aside.

Whip the Cream:

  • In a mixing bowl, pour in the heavy cream.
  • Add granulated sugar and vanilla extract to the cream.
  • Using a hand mixer or a stand mixer, whip the mixture until stiff peaks form. This will take about 3-4 minutes on medium-high speed.

Melt the Chocolate:

  • In a microwave-safe bowl, combine the semi-sweet chocolate chips and softened unsalted butter.
  • Microwave the mixture in 30-second intervals, stirring in between each interval until the chocolate is completely melted and smooth. This typically takes about 1-2 minutes in total.

Combine the Cream and Chocolate:

  • Gently fold the melted chocolate into the whipped cream mixture until fully combined. Use a spatula for this and make sure to fold gently to maintain the airiness of the whipped cream.

Fill the Pie Crust:

  • Pour the chocolate mousse mixture into the prepared chocolate graham cracker pie crust. Spread it evenly using a spatula.

Chill the Pie:

  • Place the pie in the refrigerator to chill for at least 2 hours, or until the mousse is set.

Garnish and Serve:

  • Once the pie is chilled and set, remove it from the refrigerator.
  • Optionally, garnish the pie with chocolate shavings or sprinkles for added decoration.
  • Slice the pie into servings and serve chilled. Enjoy your Easy Summer Chocolate Mousse Pie!
