Indulge your senses in the sweet symphony of flavors with these delectable coconut macaroons. Each ingredient plays a crucial role in crafting the perfect bite, creating a harmonious blend of sweetness, texture, and fragrance.

Sweetened Condensed Milk (1 can, 14 ounces):

Unveil the rich, velvety essence of these macaroons with the addition of sweetened condensed milk. This luscious ingredient brings a creamy sweetness, binding the coconut shreds into a cohesive and indulgent mixture. Its dense consistency ensures a moist and chewy interior, transforming each macaroon into a miniature delight.

Unsweetened Shredded Coconut (1 cup):

Elevate the texture and coconutty essence of these macaroons with the inclusion of unsweetened shredded coconut. The delicate strands of coconut add a chewy and satisfying crunch, enhancing both the taste and mouthfeel of the treats. As a key player, the unsweetened coconut provides a natural and authentic flavor that complements the sweetness of the condensed milk.

Vanilla Extract (1 teaspoon):

Infuse a touch of aromatic warmth into your macaroons with the essence of vanilla extract. This flavorful addition enhances the overall profile, introducing a subtle yet distinctive sweetness. The vanilla’s aromatic notes dance elegantly with the coconut, creating a delightful symphony for your taste buds.

Large Egg Whites (2):

Achieve ethereal lightness and a cloud-like exterior by incorporating large, whipped egg whites. Beating them to stiff peaks introduces airiness, resulting in a macaroon that is delightfully crisp on the outside and irresistibly tender on the inside. The egg whites contribute to the structural integrity of the macaroons, ensuring a perfectly balanced texture.

Salt (1/4 teaspoon):

Unleash the full spectrum of flavors with a hint of salt. This humble ingredient elevates the sweetness of the condensed milk and coconut, striking a harmonious balance on your palate. The salt adds depth and complexity, turning each bite into a nuanced experience that transcends the boundaries of ordinary sweetness.

To prevent the macaroons from sticking to the baking sheets, be sure to line them with parchment paper.

If you want to dip the macaroons in chocolate, melt the chocolate in a double boiler or in the microwave. Dip the bottoms of the macaroons in the melted chocolate and let them cool on a wire rack.
